Bilbies are also known as rabbit-bandicoot due to their very long ears and they are desert-dwelling marsupial omnivores. There were two species but the lesser bilby became extinct in the 1950s, the greater bilby survives but remains endangered. Belinda measures 28cm/11″ in length including the tail or 19cm/7.4″ without the tail, 11cm/4.3″ in width and 15cm/5.9″ in height.
